AND A UH, MOTION WOULD BE AN ORDER.

MAYOR.

OH, VICE MAYOR.

UH, I PROPOSED, UH, EXCUSE ME.

IS THERE ANY, ANY RE YEAH, I SAID COUNCIL, REMEMBER SHE KEPT LOOKING LIKE YOU WERE GONNA SAY SOMETHING.

I WAS, WAIT, REMEMBER LITTLE STEWART WAS GOING TO, BECAUSE THE TABLE WAS, I FORGOT WHO I WAS SITTING NEXT TO.

AND FINGERS.

WOW.

ALRIGHT, WELL WE HAVE A MOTION AND A SECOND.

UH, AND IF THERE ARE NO RECUSALS, HEARING NONE, COUNSEL, PLEASE VOTE.

UM, AND TO OUR AUDIENCE, THESE WERE, THESE ITEMS WERE DISCUSSED ON MONDAY AND, AND PROBABLY ABOUT FIVE OR SEVEN OF THEM WE BROUGHT FORTH FULL PRESENTATIONS.

UNLESS COUNSEL HAS ANY, UH, FURTHER QUESTION OR NEED FOR PRESENTATION, THAT JUST USUALLY BECOMES A SINGLE VOTE ON THESE THINGS.

NEXT

[10. Unscheduled Public Appearances]

IS UNSCHEDULED PUBLIC APPEARANCE.

I DO HAVE ONE CARD FROM A ANG MS. WAG, IF YOU PLEASE COME UP AND STATE YOUR NAME AND ADDRESS FOR THE RECORD.

UH, THE LIGHT WILL BE GREEN FOR ABOUT TWO AND A HALF MINUTES.

WHEN IT'S YELLOW, YOU'LL HAVE ABOUT 30 SECONDS.

AND PLEASE WRAP UP, UH, WHEN IT TURNS RED OR BEFORE, WE CANNOT, UH, ENGAGE YOU BECAUSE OF A PUBLIC MEETING LAW, AND THIS IS UNSCHEDULED, BUT STAFF IS MORE THAN WILLING TO RESPOND AND SEE HOW WE CAN ANSWER YOUR, YOUR CONCERNS OR REQUESTS AFTERWARDS.

SO MA'AM, SO THANK YOU, COUNSEL, STAFF.

SO I'M HERE, UH, BECAUSE THE OTHER DAY I SAW NEXT DOOR MESSAGE, A GROUP OF SENIORS THERE JUST POSTING, SAYING WHETHER THERE IS ANY PLACE, GOOD PLACE FOR US TO WORK INDOORS.

THEY WANNA GET SOME EXERCISE, BUT DON'T WANNA STAY OUTDOORS.

SO THIS MAKE ME THINKING.

I WORK FOR A COMPANY, CREATIVITY HEALTH.

WE HAVE THIS PROGRAM CALLED SILVER SNEAKERS PROGRAM.

IT IS A PROGRAM WHICH IS AT NO ADDITIONAL COST TO PEOPLE WHO ARE ELIGIBLE FOR SOME MEDICARE ADVANTAGE HEALTH PLANS.

IT OFFER, UH, A LOT OF GYMS IN A NETWORK.

AND MOST IMPORTANTLY IT OFFERING STRUCTURE LIKE ACTIVITIES.

BASICALLY, THERE WERE SPECIAL DESIGN PROGRAMS FOR SENIORS FOR THEM TO PARTICIPATE AND EXERCISE IN A GROUP SETTING.

SO NOT ONLY YOU GET TO BRING YOUR FRIENDS, YOU GET TO MEET NEW FRIENDS, ALSO GET TO STAY HEALTHY TOGETHER AND MOST OF THE TIME THEY INDOORS.

[00:05:01]

SO, UM, I SEE LIKE, UM, MY COMPANY DO A LOT OF OUTREACHING AND STUFF LIKE THAT.

I DON'T REALLY WORK FOR THE MARKETING DEPARTMENT OR STUFF ARE ACTUALLY WORKING IT, BUT I DO SEE THERE'S A LOT OF OPPORTUNITIES FOR CITY LIKE OURS WHO HAVE A LOT OF SENIOR POPULATION ABLE TO HAVE OPPORTUNITIES TO PROMOTE SUCH A PROGRAM.

UM, I THINK IT'S A, UM, IT'S A GOOD THING.

UM, THAT IS WHY I'M HERE.

AND I HAVE COUPLE FLYERS.

RAISE THE LINK TO THE WEBSITE.

SO THAT'S IT.

ALL RIGHT.

IF YOU HAVE SOME, UH, UH, MATT BURDICK WOULD LOVE THE FLYERS AND HE'LL MAKE THOSE AVAILABLE.

MAYOR, THANK YOU.

THANK YOU SO MUCH.

THANK YOU SO MUCH.

THANK YOU.

QUESTION, UM, CITY LAST MAYOR.

THANK YOU, MAYOR.

CITY MANAGER, I CAN YOU, I KNOW WE HAD THIS PROGRAM BEFORE AND I KNOW THERE WAS SOME ISSUES.

CAN WE HAVE STAFF, UH, LOOK INTO THIS? CUZ WE'VE, AS YOU KNOW, SOME OF US UP HERE BROUGHT THAT UP THERE IN OUR BUDGET SESSION AS WELL, SO APPRECIATE THAT.

YES, THANK YOU.

[ Current Events 1. Mayor's Announcements 2. Council's Announcements 3. City Manager's Announcements]

NEXT ON OUR AGENDA ARE CARD EVENTS ANNOUNCEMENTS.

I'LL START.

MAY IS NATIONAL WATER SAFETY MONTH.

AND I'VE BEEN HEARING ABOUT SOME, SOME, UH, FUN VIDEOS THAT COUNCIL HAS BEEN DOING AND WILL BE DOING COMING UP HERE SOON AS, UH, THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT TO US BECAUSE A HUNDRED PERCENT OF DROWNINGS ARE PREVENTABLE.

CHANDLER AQUATICS, CHANDLER FIRE, AND CHANDLER POLICE, UH, ARE WOR WANT TO KNOW WHAT ARE YOU DOING ABOUT IT OR WHAT ARE YOU DOING ABOUT IT? AND THAT'S ACTUALLY THE NATURE OF OUR, OF A WEBSITE TOO.

SO THAT'S CLEVER.

IF SOMEBODY CLEVERER THAN ME, WHAT ARE YOU DOING ABOUT IT? SO FIND WATER SAFETY RESOURCES YOU NEED TO BE THE FIRST LINE OF DEFENSE AND HELP ENSURE CHILDREN ARE SAFE IN AND AROUND WATER.

WE HAVE STARTED A SOCIAL MEDIA CAMPAIGN AND WE'LL BE IN SHARING IMPORTANT INFORMATION WITH OUR COMMUNITY, UH, RELATED TO WATER.

WE ARE ON MAY 6TH.

WE ARE CELEBRATING NATIONAL WATER SAFETY MONTH WITH A DRIVE-IN MOVIE.

THE MOVIE LUCA WILL BE SHOWN AT HAMILTON AQUATIC CENTER.

THIS EVENT IS GONNA BE ON MAY 6TH FROM SIX UNTIL 9:00 PM AND I BELIEVE EARLIER THAT MORNING, WE'RE ALSO GONNA BE HAVING A WATER WATCH THAT OUR FIRE DEPARTMENT WILL BE, UH, BRINGING TO A SECTION OF OUR COMMUNITY AND DROPPING OFF FLYERS.

I ALSO WANNA INVITE ALL OF YOU TO JOIN MYSELF AND COUNSEL ON MONDAY, MAY 1ST.

THIS NEXT MONDAY AT 8:00 AM FOR THE PUBLIC SAFETY, UH, AT THE PUBLIC SAFETY MEMORIAL PLAZA AT TWO 50 EAST CHICAGO STREET.

THIS, WE'RE HAVING AN EVENT.

THIS IS OUR ANNUAL EVENT TO HONOR THE THE LIVES AS WELL AS THE FAMILIES OF OUR FALLEN POLICE OFFICERS.

THIS IS A, A POWERFUL EVENT AND I HOPE THAT YOU'LL CONSIDER JOINING US.

TWO THAT I'VE THROWN ON HERE THAT WEREN'T PART OF MY NOTES IS, UH, WE HAD A FANTASTIC EVENT LAST WEEK WITH NATIONAL DAY OR WITH A, UH, CHANDLER'S, UH, MAYOR'S EAST VALLEY MAYOR PRAYER EVENT.

WE, UH, A NONPROFIT PARTNERED WITH THE Y M C A AT THEIR EVENT, HAD A FULL HOUSE.

IT WAS WELL DONE.

UH, AS A RESULT OF THAT, I'VE BEEN INVITED TO THE, OUR SALT RIVER PIMA MARICOPA INDIAN COMMUNITIES, THEIR NATIONAL DAY OF PRAYER EVENT, WHICH IS COMING UP THIS NEXT THURSDAY ON MAY 4TH.

SO, UH, WANNA THANK ALL THE, THE COMMITTEES AND ALL WHO WAS, WERE RESPONSIBLE IN PUTTING TOGETHER THAT MEETING.

AND LAST FOR ME, BUT NOT IN THE LEAST, I WANT TO GIVE A SHOUT OUT TO BASHA HIGH SCHOOL, THEIR MARCHING BAND, AND I DON'T KNOW WHAT CATEGORY, IF THEY'RE MASSIVELY HUGE OR MID-SIZE, BUT THEY WON A STATE CHAMPIONSHIP FOR A MARCHING BAND, AND THEY WILL BE COMPETING IN HAWAII AT THE END OF THIS YEAR.

SO GO BASH BEARS MARCHING BAND COUNCIL MEMBER ANDINA.

VERY GOOD.

COUNCIL MEMBER ELLIS.

THANK YOU, MAYOR.

WELL, THE IN INAUGURAL WOMEN EMPOWERMENT LUNCHEON IS COMING UP AND IT'S GOING TO BE ON FRIDAY, MAY 12TH FROM 10 30 TO 1:00 PM THE EVENT WILL BE AT THE CHANDLER CENTER FOR THE ARTS, AND WE WILL HAVE A DYNAMIC KEYNOTE SPEAKER, FOLLOWED BY AN ESTEEMED PANEL OF FEMALE LEADERS AND CHAMPIONS IN OUR CHANDLER COMMUNITY.

PLEASE SIGN UP AS SOON AS YOU CAN BECAUSE WE WANT ALL THE WOMEN ON CHANDLER TO SHOW UP THAT DAY AND TO BE EMPOWERED.

THANK YOU.

OKAY, VICE MAYOR, NO ANNOUNCEMENTS.

NIGHTMARE.

ALL RIGHT, COUNCIL MEMBER STEWART.

THANK YOU, MAYOR.

I JUST, UH, WANT TO WISH ALL OF THE STATE, UH, COMPETITORS THIS WEEK.

GIRLS SOFTBALL, BASHA HIGH, HAMILTON HIGH, PERRY HIGH, GOT NUMBER ONE TEAM IN THE STATE IN BASEBALL.

HAMILTON HUSKIES BASH AND CASTILE ARE GONNA BE IN THERE AS WELL AS VALLEY CHRISTIAN.

SO GOOD LUCK THIS WEEKEND IN THE PLAYOFFS OF YOUR RESPECTIVE SPORTS.

WE'LL BE ROOTING FOR YOU FOR

[00:10:01]

SURE.

UH, AND THEN ON, UH, EARLIER THIS LAST WEEK, WE CELEBRATED A GRAND OPENING OF EDWARDS, UH, VACUUM.

AND, UH, WE HAD, THE GOVERNOR WAS IN TOWN FOR THAT.

GOVERNOR HOBBS WAS ATTENDING, AND, UH, IT WAS A GREAT TURNOUT.

WE ARE EXCITED ABOUT THE, UH, GROWTH OF OUR SEMICONDUCTOR SUPPORT SERVICES LIKE EDWARDS VACUUM, AND THEY'LL BE SUPPORTING T M C AND INTEL AND OTHER COMPANIES LIKE THAT.

BUT A 200,000 SQUARE FOOT MANUFACTURING FACILITY WILL BE HOME TO ABOUT 400 JOBS, AND THOSE ARE HIGH PAYING JOBS.

AND SO WE WANNA GIVE A SHOUT OUT TO OUR ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT TEAM, G PAK, EAST VALLEY PARTNERSHIP AND OUR CHAMBER OF COMMERCE FOR, FOR THAT BIG WIN FOR OUR CITIES.

THE, UH, THE HITS KEEP COMING.

SO THANKS VERY MUCH, MAYOR.

COUNCIL MEMBER HARRIS.

YES.

UM, THANK YOU MAYOR.

UM, JUST WANTED TO LET EVERYONE KNOW APRIL IS AUTISM MONTH.

SO I HAD THE AWESOME OPPORTUNITY TO GO TO ONE OF OUR, UM, FACILITIES WHERE I WAS ABLE TO INTERACT WITH OUR ZUMBA INSTRUCTOR WHO ACTUALLY HAD A CHILD WHO WAS AUTISTIC.

AND SHE TAUGHT ME A COUPLE ZUMA, YOU KNOW, MOVES AND THINGS.

AND THERE WE ARE.

AND THEN ALSO OUR, ONE OF OUR STAFF MEMBERS, UM, ANGELICA, WHO WAS ALSO THERE, WHO LEADS OUR THERAPEUTIC PROGRAM THAT WE HAVE IN THE CITY OF CHANDLER.

SO IF THERE IS SOME SPECIAL NEEDS, CHANDLER HAS A SPECIAL SPACE FOR, YOU CAN COME AND BE A PART OF SOME OF THE PROGRAMS TO ADDRESS CERTAIN TYPES OF ISSUES.

AND ADAM, RIGHT THERE, AS YOU CAN SEE IN THE PICTURE, HE ALSO, HE, HE LIVES WITH AUTISM AND HIM AND I AND HIS MOM NEXT TO HIM, UM, SUSAN, WHO'S ALSO OUR ZUMBA INSTRUCTOR HERE IN CHANDLER, WE WAS GETTING, WE WAS GETTING OUR MOVES ON .

SO IF YOU WANT TO SEE MORE OF COUNCIL MEMBER HARRIS MOOSE, GO TO , GO TO THE CITY OF CHANDLER, OUR COUNCIL PAGE, AND YOU'LL SEE ME ZOOMING AND MOVING AND, AND MAKING, YOU KNOW, HAVING A GOOD OLD TIME.

SO AGAIN, APRIL'S AUTISM MONTH AND MAKE SURE YOU GUYS, UH, GO THERE AND LEARN MORE ABOUT HOW YOU CAN BE, HOW YOU CAN HELP THAT COMMUNITY, THAT GROUP OUT.

THANKS.

SO, COUNCIL MEMBER HARRIS SPEAKING ON BEHALF OF COUNCIL, WE ALL WANT YOU TO STAND UP AND SHOW US SOME ZUMBA BOOTHS.

, SHE SAID, YOU GOT A ROLL AND YOU GOTTA ROLL WITH IT.

ALMOST THERE.

JUST, ALRIGHT, UM, I'M, I'M SPEECHLESS.

, THAT'S POSTED.

I REALLY NEED TO STOP FOLLOWING COUNCIL MEMBER HARRIS, SO I'M NOT GONNA DANCE.

BUT, UM, I, THERE I WANTED TO TALK ABOUT ALTOGETHER.

NOW IT'S, IT'S TIME FOR THE SUMMER READING CHALLENGE.

AGAIN, BELIEVE IT OR NOT, MONDAY IS MAY ONE.

THAT'S WHEN YOU CAN START TO SIGN UP.

BUT THE PROGRAM BEGINS ON JUNE ONE AND IT IS REALLY MEANT TO PROHIBIT THAT SORT OF SUMMER SLIDE THAT KIDS GET WHEN THEY'RE NOT READING ALL SUMMER.

BUT THIS IS OPEN TO ALL AGES, YOU KNOW, FROM YOUNG TO OLD, TO THE BOOMER AGE, TO THE MILLENNIALS AND GEN ZS.

AND, UM, THERE'S ALL SORTS OF REALLY NEAT PRIZES FOR THIS .

AND I'M GONNA TAKE SOME MOM PRIVILEGE RIGHT NOW BECAUSE WE WERE TELLING DAD JOKES EARLIER, AND I'M TRYING TO SEE IF I CAN MAKE COUNCIL MEMBER EN CENA'S EYES ROLL, LIKE MY KIDS DO WHEN I HAVE A LITTLE QUOTE HERE, AND THIS IS MY, THIS IS ONE OF MY FAVORITE QUOTES I USED TO ALWAYS SAY IS THAT THOSE WHO DON'T READ HAVE NO ADVANTAGE OF THOSE OVER THOSE WHO CAN'T.

SO WITH THAT BEING SAID, I'D LIKE TO SEE IF SOME OF MY FELLOW COUNCIL MEMBERS WOULD LIKE TO JOIN ME IN THE SUMMER READING CHALLENGE.

IT'S ABOUT 20 MINUTES A DAY.

I THINK OUR AGENDAS COULD PROBABLY COVER MOST OF THAT .

SO, UM, I, I'D LOVE TO SEE THAT, UH, YOU KNOW, I KNOW I'M ON DIGITAL PROBABLY WAY TOO MUCH, SO, UH, BACK TO SOME BASIC READING.

SO ANYHOW, I REALLY HOPE THE COMMUNITY SIGNS UP.

I, I'M, I'M A BIG FAN OF OUR LIBRARIES IN READING AND THIS IS JUST A GREAT PROGRAM.

THANK YOU MAYOR HONOR, MAYOR, COUNCIL MEMBER, UH, COUNCIL COUNCILWOMAN PAULSON, YOU ARE ON, I'M AN AVID READER, SO I KNOW I'M GONNA WIN .

I'M GONNA READ THIS AGENDA TWICE.

, JUST READ THE BUDGET BOOK.

READ THE BUDGET BOOK COUNCIL MEMBER POSTING.

DOES MY 10 HOURS IN THE BUDGET BOOK, DOES THAT COUNT TOWARDS US, SIR? I SURE HOPE SO.

ALL RIGHT, CITY MANAGER.

THANK YOU MR. MAYOR, MEMBERS OF COUNCIL, I DO HAVE TWO BRIEF ITEMS FOR YOU TONIGHT.

UM, THE FIRST IS YOU MAY REALIZE THAT A COUPLE OF PEOPLE ARE MISSING THAT ARE NORMALLY HERE TONIGHT.

SO ANDY BASS, AS WELL AS, UH, MICAH MIRANDA.

AND THAT IS BECAUSE, UH, THEY ARE DOWN IN TUCSON RIGHT NOW WHERE MICAH IS RECEIVING A VERY PROMINENT AWARD FROM THE ARIZONA ASSOCIATION FOR ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT.

SO HE WAS NAMED ECONOMIC DEVELOPER OF THE YEAR WOW.

UH, FOR THE STATE OF ARIZONA.

SO, UH, HE IS REALLY, UH, SHY AND STUBBORN ABOUT IT, SO WE HAD TO GET IT OUT OF HIM.

HE'S BEEN HIDING IT FROM US FOR A WHILE, BUT WE WERE ABLE TO FIND OUT FOR

[00:15:01]

SURE.

AND SO, UH, WE WILL BE CELEBRATING THAT IN THE FUTURE WHEN HE, UH, FORMALLY RECEIVES THE AWARD LATER TONIGHT.

ALSO WANTED TO, UH, ACTUALLY POSE A QUESTION TO YOU, MR. MAYOR.

SO THERE'S A TRADITION WHERE AT THIS MEETING YOU SET THE ATTIRE FOR TOMORROW'S ALL DAY BUDGET BRIEF.

SO I NEED TO MAKE SURE WE DON'T FORGET FOR YOU TO TELL US WHAT SHOULD WE BE WEARING TOMORROW.

HEY, WELL, UM, NOT ZUMBA, CLOSE , HOW ABOUT BUSINESS CASUAL STAFF AND COUNCIL? SO I'M GONNA WEAR A POLO SHIRT AND, UH, PROBABLY A PAIR OF SLACKS.

HOW'S THAT? I'M GONNA WEAR SOME, OKAY.

I, I DON'T THINK WE ALL NEED TO GO INTO THIS NEED TOO MUCH INFORMATION, SO THANK YOU COUNSEL.

SO WE BREAKFAST IS AT EIGHT TOMORROW, IS THAT 7 45? AND WE'LL START AT EIGHT 15.

AND, UH, WE WILL, UH, WE'LL HAVE A, A GOOD ROBUST CONVERSATION AND LOOK FORWARD TO SEEING YOU ALL HERE PROMPTLY BEFORE EIGHT 15.

RIGHT.

WITH THAT, THAT CONCLUDES OUR MEETING.
